Start Here If You Are New
Yes, you can start MMA with zero experience. At Team 515 in Longview, your first class is free, no gear is required for that first class, and beginners do not do live sparring on day one.
If you searched for mma classes longview tx, you are likely trying to answer one simple question: “Can I walk into this gym without looking foolish?” The answer is yes. Most beginners are nervous. Most do not know the names of the moves. Most are not in the shape they want to be in yet.
That is normal.
Team 515, also known as Longview MMA, trains at 320 E. Tyler St., Longview, TX 75606. You can call or text (903) 930-4599 before you come in. You can also walk in to any class that fits you. Call first if you can, because class times can shift seasonally.

What MMA Is
MMA stands for mixed martial arts. It brings striking, wrestling, and submissions together. At Team 515, the main pieces are boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and MMA class work.
Boxing teaches hands, footwork, and ring IQ. Muay Thai teaches fists, elbows, knees, and shins. Brazilian jiu jitsu teaches the ground game, using leverage, technique, and control. MMA brings those parts together so students learn how the ranges connect.
You do not need to understand all of that before you start. A beginner only needs to learn one class at a time. A coach gives you fundamentals. You drill. You ask questions. You get better by showing up.

What Your First Class Feels Like
Show up 15 minutes early. Wear comfortable workout clothes. Bring water. No gear is required for your first class.
You will train at your level. A coach runs you through fundamentals alongside people who are right where you are. You are not thrown to the wolves. You are not expected to know what to do.
Day one is not live sparring. The goal is to help you feel comfortable from minute one. No egos. No attitudes. Just a room full of people working to get better.

Do You Need To Be In Shape First?
No. You get in shape by training, not before it.
This matters because many people wait. They think they need to lose weight first. They think they need to run for a month first. They think everyone else will already be fit.
You can start where you are. Every class scales to your level. If you are brand new, your job is not to keep up with advanced students. Your job is to learn the basics, breathe, listen, and come back.

What To Wear And Bring
For your first class, keep it simple.
Wear a T-shirt or rash guard if you have one. Wear athletic shorts, leggings, or other comfortable workout clothes. Bring water.
You do not need gloves, shin guards, a gi, or special shoes for the first class. No gear is required to try it. If you keep training, the coaches can help you understand what you need next.
The main point is this: do not let gear stop you from coming in. Comfortable clothes and water are enough for the first visit.

Cost And Memberships
Your first class is always free. Memberships are month-to-month. There are no contracts.

The MMA All-Access plan covers 2 nights of MMA, 3 nights of jiu jitsu, and 4 nights of Muay Thai across the week.
If you are not sure which plan fits, try the free class first. Then talk through the options in person.
How To Choose The Right First Class
If you want striking, try Muay Thai or Boxing. If you want the ground game, try Jiu Jitsu. If you want the full mix, ask about Adult MMA.
A complete beginner does not need to pick the perfect path on day one. The first class is about seeing the room, meeting the coach, and learning a few basics. After that, the right choice is usually clearer.
